The potential security risk to both companies and individuals presented by some current IT disposal methods for end-of-life PC’s has been exposed on several television and radio news programmes. In particular, BBC1’s ‘Real Story’ highlighted the very real danger of confidential information being retrieved from the hard drives of recycled PC’s.
